MUSIC
We have an exciting music program that combines both ancient and modern worship pieces. We can always use new musicians of any instrument to ‘make a joyful noise’ and to ‘worship God in the beauty of holiness.’
FELLOWSHIP OF THE KING
Epiphany has been blessed with a vigorous men’s program over the last several years. Right now ten to fifteen men meet each Friday morning at 6:30 AM to check in with each other and to grow as spiritual fathers, capable of reproducing our faith in other men. Every man who enters our program is on a path to complete the Building Brothers four phase training. If you want to have fun, join us each Friday, weather permitting, for good fellowship and bible study. Our men’s program will be featured this month or next in the Building Brothers monthly newsletter. Watch the men’s bulletin board for our featured article. This year Epiphany Men will continue to hone our skills in playing golf, playing pool, and we intend a retreat, too. To start, ask other men about their experiences, then join us on the golf course for fun and frolic. - Kevin Condon
WOMEN’S BIBLE GROUP
Our Bible study meets on Tuesdays from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. We are tackling the life of King David according to 2nd Samuel. We plan to go through the entire Bible and discover all the riches God has put in there for us. Our time spent together has been priceless. Please join us! - Anna Chase, Sherry Gunnell, Martha Tafoya, Barbara Rooney
ADULT EDUCATION FORUM
Every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. between services the adults meet in the Amy Russell room for Bible study and prayer. During the last year and one half we have had in-depth studies of several books of the Bible to include: Genesis, Exodus, James, 1,2,3, John. We are using the “Life Guide” Bible study as our template. Currently we are studying the book of Luke. The discussion is always lively. Several of the parishioners are experts in the Holy Scripture and all of us enjoy each other’s company. We strive to honor God’s will as we study his holy Word. There is always room for more members. We have outgrown the library, and are looking forward to outgrowing the Russell room. Please join us any Sunday you can. Each week the lesson is read in class. No homework is required. This is the most fun you will have all week. All are welcome. - Whitt Hollis
PRAYER CHAIN
The prayer chain provides emergency as well as long term prayer needs for family, friends, and neighbors. These are passed to those on the chain via e-mail. We are also considering ways to pray more intentionally for Epiphany’s ministry and mission, and a few of us meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:30. Anyone desiring to join this ministry, please phone Anna Chase, 303-394-0777. A most rewarding opportunity to bear one another’s burdens. - Anna Chase, Jeff Downing, Dwight Colemere
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday school for school aged children is going very well. It meets every Sunday from 9:15-10:15. The kids are learning Bible verses and are being taught how to be more Christ-like in daily situations. Each week, we play a game that allows the children to practice what they have learned. The kids are learning how to pray for others and to be thankful to God for what they have. The enrollment for Sunday school is up to 20 children. The children are a delight to have in class! In addition to learning more about Jesus, the children are learning scripture based songs. They are led by Sarah and love to sing. They have been introduced to instruments and they have performed during church services. The children enjoy the music ministry!
READERS and CHALICE
We have several readers and chalice bearers. We are an integral part of the liturgy because we invite people into the presence of God and we help administer the sacrament. There is always room for more!
OUTREACH MINISTRY
The outreach committee organized programs in which the whole congregation participated:
The congregation donated monthly food items and clothing to a food pantry, “Denver Urban Ministries”. Grocery bags of food and toiletries were taken to a second food pantry, “Metro Caring” on Loaves and Fishes Sunday. Children’s gifts were delivered to “Metro Caring” for their Christmas program in which parents chose one gift for each child.
Clothing and toiletries were taken to”Saint. Francis Center”, where services are provided for the homeless. Bibles were taken to “Streets Hope”, a new woman’s center. Dinette set, dressers, kitchen items clocks, lamps and an encyclopedia were taken to “Ecumenical Refugee Services”. Know anyone moving or redecoration who could donate items?
We also have a new initiative with refugees from Burundi who attend our congregation. They are wonderful folks. We help with various needs, including ESL.
Fundraising activities include providing brunches between services with St. Martha’s Guild and sales of King Sooper’s certificates. If you would like to join us in this worthwhile ministry contact Iris McMullen at 303-794-3739. - Iris McMullen
ALTAR GUILD
Altar Guild is growing. We are so pleased with the increase in numbers of dedicated members and the enthusiasm with which we all serve. This past year saw a change in leadership: Barbara Rooney took over from Andrea Hollis as Directress. Andrea remains as Assistant Directress and the authority on all things Altar Guild. She is our mentor and blessed guide.
A special ceremony was held in October at which Father Stace blessed the members and presented each with an altar guild pin. We have several aspects of service in Altar Guild including preparing the altar each Sunday, arranging the flowers, caring for the linens and serving during the holy seasons of the church year such as Christmas and Holy Week when extra effort is required.
We welcome anyone who is interested in participating. Several times a year we hold a workshop/meeting to instruct in Altar Guild service. I may be contacted at 303-322-1617. - Barbara Rooney
